Protecting your personal data is important to me. This privacy policy informs you about how your personal data is processed when using my websites (hosted on beehiiv and Notion) and my services.
Server log files are stored by the services I use to operate my websites (beehiiv, Notion). The data collected may include the following:
Browser type and version,
operating system used,
referrer URL,
hostname of the accessing device,
time of the server request,
IP address.
The retention period for this data is determined by the respective service providers. This data is only stored for as long as necessary for the operation and security of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest).
When using the forms on my platforms (e.g. Notion), the data you enter is stored directly on the servers of the respective providers. This includes:
Name,
email address,
company name and website (for partnership inquiries),
content of your inquiry,
any additional voluntarily provided information.
This data is processed solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
For sending the newsletter "The German Autopreneur," I use the platform beehiiv. To subscribe to the newsletter, the following is required:
Your email address,
your consent (double opt-in).
The data is processed to deliver the newsletter (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time. For more information about data processing by beehiiv, please refer to the beehiiv Privacy Policy.beehiiv stores your data on servers in the United States. Protection is ensured through appropriate measures such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC). For more information, see the beehiiv Terms of Service.
On my platforms (beehiiv, Notion), I use Google Analytics to collect usage statistics and optimize content. The following data may be collected:
Page views and interactions (enhanced analytics),
browser and operating system used,
referrer URL,
truncated IP address (IP anonymization),
cross-device usage statistics and demographic data (Google Signals).
Google Signals:This feature links session data from users who are signed into their Google account and have enabled personalized advertising with my analytics data. This enables:
Detailed reports on demographic characteristics and interests.
Cross-device tracking.
Audience lists for personalized advertising.
Important:
Processing only occurs with your consent via the cookie banner (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
You can disable personalized advertising in your Google account to prevent data linking.

Opt-out option: You can object to processing by Google Analytics by using the Google Opt-out Add-on.
For processing payments (e.g. premium subscriptions or invoices), I use Stripe. Stripe may process the following data:
Name,
billing and payment information,
email address.

The retention period of personal data depends on the respective processing purpose:
Form data: Until your inquiry has been resolved.
Newsletter data: Until you withdraw your consent.
Server log files: According to the service providers' policies.
Google Analytics data: 14 months (user data), 2 months (event data).
Payment data: According to statutory retention obligations (e.g. 10 years for tax-related documents).
You have the following rights:
Access to your stored data,
rectification of inaccurate data,
erasure of your data (provided no statutory retention obligations apply),
restriction of processing,
objection to processing,
data portability,
withdrawal of given consent,
complaint to a data protection supervisory authority.
Your data will only be shared with third parties if this is necessary, for example:
with beehiiv for newsletter delivery,
with Stripe for payment processing,
with Google for the use of Google Analytics and Google Signals,
with Notion for the storage of form data.
Data sharing is based on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
I implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including SSL encryption, access restrictions, and regular security audits.
